About me

I love writing. Love coming up with ideas that cut through all the noise. That change lives. That make a real difference. I enjoy talking about creativity, taking risks, stupidity and storytelling.

I really hate writing bios. But here goes…

I'm an award-winning creative director, conceptual copywriter and brand strategist with over 15 years’ experience in the charity sector. I’m also a freelance music writer and critic for places like The Guardian and Vice.

Those 15 years have been fun: from building brands and leading creative teams, to working on campaigns that have won awards and, most importantly, saved lives.

I like working on things that are disruptive. Crisps that help people open up about their mental health. A dinosaur and a song that helps children and parents have conversations about sexual abuse. Working on the most awarded campaign in the world in 2023, which put suicide prevention on the national agenda.

From rebrands to full 360 campaigns, I come up with ideas that cut through and make sure every word makes a difference.

I help bring communications to life in imaginative, creative and powerful ways by simplifying big ideas into attention-grabbing concepts and campaigns.

It’s all about thinking differently to make stuff disruptive, fun or moving. Most importantly, it’s about making it memorable and interesting. Telling the brand’s story in a way that sticks in people’s minds. Because if no one remembers it, no one cares.

I’m currently doing that as Creative Director at CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably). We do things differently, demanding that suicide be given the attention it needs so that we can save more lives.
